About Clara Elsie Kapalka
My sister has quite the personality. My memories of her in my childhood are those not in her beauty and laughter it was the sister who had to take care of breakfast, make sure the younger children were dressed and ready for school. She helped wash clothes, ironed and made meals. Her sponge cake called sunshine cake was so light and fluffy. Her gift of the gab gained her many friends who loved to listen to the tales she wove like silk. She made them laugh and forget their troubles for a while. She helped neighbors babysitting .
She hated school . And one day she met the young man who stole her heart. She was 15 and Garry Cooper dated. Clara began another challenge in life as a young wife when she married Garry Cooper . Shortly after Ron was born, Clara began life as a single young woman left to raise their son on her own. She rented an apartment in town and worked at the Donald cafe and we babysat . She dated yet none seemed worthy of her commitment again . It was at the Donald she met Edward Kapalka, an older man through his sister who Clara worked with. Ed was so exciting and different than the other guys she met.l Ed became another challenging growing stage for her.
Clara was beautiful, with her dark brown eyes and quick flashing smile. She waitressed in many cafes before getting on.atmthe NADP. She worked.thete for 18 years.. She became an excellent cook through the years and managed her own Catering company . before moving to Vancouver Island.
She was talented as an artist. able to draw a Arabian horses better than I , yet she chose to use her other talents in gardening and crafts.
