About Clara Johanna Mattheys

NOTE: Clara Johanna Mattheys nee Brink does not appear in her mother's, Henrietta Christina Brink nee Colm, Death Notice; the reason is unknown, but is likely clerical error. The Death Notice was filled out by Clara's brother, Hendrick Francois (Henry) Brink.

Clara's Death Notice names her parents as Daniel Brink and Christina Brink nee Kolm of "Highbury, Hen and Chicken's Estate, Clairmont".

Obituary

MATTHEYS.—Sister Clara Johanna Mattheys died at Vereeniging in the home of her daughter, on Friday, Oct. 3, 1930, just as the sun was setting. She was 62 years of age.

She accepted the Message when she first heard it preached, under the labours of Elder H. J. Edmed in 1914. She was a faithful supporter of the Cause of God, by word and deed. Nothing pleased her more than to know that the Message was progressing. She was laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery at Ladysmith, Natal, by the side of her son, who a few months ago was killed in an accident.

To the sorrowing children and relatives we extend our sympathies. They will miss her for a few short years, but if faithful to the end they will -be re-united in the earth made new. B. P. de Beer.
