Clara Youvone Phillips, age 75 years, a resident of Philippi, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Broaddus Hospital in Philippi, WV. She was born May 7, 1942 at Elkins, a daughter of the late Everett Clare and Pearl Fay White Curtis. On August 10, 1960 at Oakland, MD, she was married to James Clayton Phillips who preceded her in death November 11, 2009. She is survived by one son, Ronald C. Phillips and wife Dorothy of Philippi, and two daughters, Kimberly Everson and husband Allan of Belington and Sandra Phillips of Philippi. Two brothers, Everett Curtis of Flemington, WV and Arthur Curtis of Philippi, five grandchildren, Matthew Phillips, Justin Phillips and wife Laura, Jonathan, Joshua and Andrew Everson and two great granddaughters, Chole and Gabryel Phillips. Also preceding her in death were one son, James E. Phillips and one brother, Donald Lee Curtis. Clara had owned and operated a Children’s Clothing Store and was a homemaker. She loved watching television, spending time with her family and was a Christian.
