OBITUARY- Clara Bertina Sauer, 91, of Austin, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at Prairie Manor Care Center, Blooming Prairie. She was born Nov. 9, 1911, to Albert and Ella (Matson) Moen in Dodge County. On Aug. 22, 1945, she married Albert Sauer in Brigham City, Utah. They lived in Austin where, in her later years, Clara worked at the Kingswood Hotel. She belonged to St. Olaf Lutheran Church, WELCA and the Eagles. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, flowers and spending time with family.

Survivors include daughters, Judy (Thomas) Walsh, Red Wing; Janet Pettry, San Antonio, Texas; son, John (Becky) Sauer, Austin; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Sylvia) Moen, Austin; sisters, Irene (Leslie) Johnson, Janesville; Mathilda Jerdet, San Antonio, Texas; sisters-in-law, Doris Moen, Austin; Mary Moen, Austin. She was preceded in death by parents; husband; infant son, James; brothers, Melvin, Bennie and Clarence; sisters, Alvina Distad, Emma Johnson and Evelyn Moen.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 4, 2003, at the funeral home and Friday at the church for one hour before the service. Service: 3 p.m. Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roberta Flood officiating. Casketbearers will be Tim Walsh, Todd Walsh, John Sauer, Kelly Sauer, Loanna Dempsey and Dale Distad. Interment: Grandview Cemetery. Funeral Home: Worlein Funeral Home, Austin.
