About Clark Jones
Clark Jones was born near Rockville, Indiana, March 27, 1841 and died June 1, 1920 at his home near Kingfisher. He was a soldier of the Civil War. He came from Barber County, Kansas, to Oklahoma in 1889, locating on a farm near Kingfisher, where he has resided ever since. He was united in marriage to Elcy Jane Armstrong, April 10, 1873, at Victor, Iowa. To this union were born eleven children of whom nine are still living. The living children are: G. W.(Warner) Jones and Mrs. Will (Della) Viers of Carmen, Okla.; Mrs. M. C.(May) Maddux,of Enid, Frank Jones and Streeter Jones of Beaver County, Okla.; Mrs. Claude (Gertrude) Bollenbach, Mrs. Frank (Ethel)Mosher, Mrs. E.E.(Grace) Dunmire and Mrs. M. T.(Iva) Patrick of Kingfisher. Verdie May died August 29, 1891 at the age ot 17 years and Georgianna Pearl (Kendall) died September,19, 1909 at the age of 22 years. Besides these sons and daughter he leaves forty living grandchildren and three great grandchildren. All the children were present at the funeral except Mrs. Della Viers of Carmen.Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Bird Creek Church conducted by Rev S. L. Maxson. Interment was made in Bird Creek Cemetery.
