Clark was born 5 Jun 1845 in White Plains, Calhoun, Alabama. He was the 7th child born to Caleb Garrison Morgan and Matilda E McClure.
During the Civil War, he enlisted as a Private and served with the 51st Regiment, Partisan Rangers, Company D.
After the war he married Josephine Martin on 18 Dec 1866.
They had 12 children: John Henry (1867-1928), Charles Caleb (1868-1913), William Victor (1869-1933), Leon O (1872-1929), Alfred Thomas (1874-1926), Burton E (1876-1951), Mae (1878-1962), Septemus L (1879-1933), Samuel H (1880-1947), Joseph Clark (1883-1945), Bessie (1885-1943), and Roxie (1887-1955)
Clark spent his life farming the land. He was obviously a very good grower. In Sept 1894, according to an article in the Jacksonville Republican, he won the blue ribbon in the county for the largest watermelons. He grew 8 that were 320 pounds and 5 that were 221 pounds.
After Josephine died, shortly after the birth of their last child, Clark raised the kids and never remarried. He died in 1912 at the age of 67.
