The eldest son was Claude Norman 'de Riberac' Eddie who married Mary Ann Mullin - an interesting connection as her parents were of the few who survived the wreck of the Birkenhead. Claude's younger sister Caroline married Edmund Richard Carlisle, the youngest of John Carlisle and Catherine Philipps' children, and they named their first child William Sutherland 'de Rebeiro' Carlisle. The name 'de Rebeiro' seems to have Portuguese connections and 'de Riberac', French - both exist ... but being in the same family, I am tempted to suggest that one may be a transcription error
