Claude Reginald Powell

Claude Powell married Violet (nee Stark), who was a widow, on 30 April 1917. Violet's brother Jack, writing that year to his brother Gordon who was on active service, had been intrigued to meet Claude again, saying he last saw him about 18 years earlier. On 17 June he wrote c/o Mrs C. R. Powell, Wootton, near Oxord, Berks: It's grilling hot - no rain for weeks. Claude says it's serious for his farm... Fox sends you her very best love.
