Clementine (Bosch) Gerhart Schwartz, 90, Bismarck, North Dakota, died April 20, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck, North Dakota.

Clementine was born Aug. 17, 1910, in Germany, the daughter of Simon and Theresa (Braulich) Bosch.

When she was seven months old, the family immigrated to the United States and homesteaded in Linton, North Dakota. They later moved to Halliday, North Dakota, where Clementine was raised and educated.

She married Anton L. Gerhart in 1929. They operated a combination grocery store and butcher shop in Halliday, North Dakota, for many years. They moved to Bismarck, North Dakota in the 1950s. Anton died in 1968.

Clem married Fred W. Schwartz in Mandan, North Dakota in 1971. He died in 1995.

Clementine worked in the central supply department of St. Alexius Hospital for 17 years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing and playing cards. She was a member of Eagles Club, Moose Lodge and Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Roland Frey, Missoula, Montana; her sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Pauline Gerhart, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Simon and Lorraine Gerhart, Missoula, Montana; and Charles and Rose Marie Gerhart, Mandan, North Dakota; her step-daughter, Gloria Gieser, Farmington, Minnesota.

Also 10 grandsons, Paul, retired Lt. Col. Robert, Allan, Kevin, Dr. Timothy and Tom Gerhart, Jeff, Jim, Jerry and John Frey; four granddaughters, Mary Kay Bean, Susan Gerhart, Lisa Bloom and Tamara Sevlie; one brother, Joe Bosch, Bismarck; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.

Clementine was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Anton Gerhart and Fred Schwartz; two grandsons, Major Frederick and Steven Gerhart; two brothers, Pete and Simon Bosch; and two sisters, Magdalen Voigt and Mary Mudd.
