GILBERT, Cleo J., 93, a lifelong resident of Coffee County, died Wednesday June 23, 2004, at Manchester Healthcare Center. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Carroll and Almedia Francis Blanton Carroll. She was a homemaker and charter member of Victory Baptist Church in Manchester. She will be remembered for her hobby of piecing quilts, most of which she gave away, the last quilt she completed being given to her doctor, Dr. Deaton, and her love for her God, her church, her family and her many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed Francis Gilbert, who died June 17, 1991; son, Robert S. ; granddaughter, Cynthia; sister, Hazel Wiser, and two brothers, Henry and Colman Carroll.
She is survived by one daughter, Fran J. Armitage, Tullahoma; two sons, Roy T. Gilbert, Manchester and Reed E. Gilbert, Tullahoma; seven grandchildren, Button Dale Steve Gilbert, Kenny Ghea, Judi Pauli, Garland Harmon Romonia Bailey and John Gilbert; five great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandson.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 25, at Central Funeral Home in Manchester with Brother Keith Jarvis and Brother Keith Munley officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery. Central Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Inscription: Married Mar. 20, 1929
