CLIFFORD V. REED, SR.

Clifford Vernon Reed, Sr., 69, Collins, Mo., formerly of this area, died Aug. 23, 1987, at a hospital in Springfield, Mo. He was born in Elgin, Iowa, and lived in Kansas City from 1931 until he moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1971. He moved to Collins in September 1986. Mr. Reed was an auto mechanic. Later he was a millwright at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. He was a member of Valley Southern Baptist Church, Mesa. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a 33-year member of the Independence Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Reed of the home; a son, Clifford V. Reed, Jr., Peculiar in Cass County; four daughters, Loretta Clark, Collins, Judy Gibson, Corning, Calif., Juanita Arnold, Dahlgren, Va., and Angela Cappellano, Mesa; a brother, Loren Reed, Overland Park; a sister, Shirley Genaler, Shawnee; nine grandchildren; a six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Newcomer
