About Clinton M McCourt
He followed others to the 1898 gold rush in Alaska and lived there until 1909. He returned south to Sequim and married Jessie Roberson in Port Townsend. At Sequim he assisted in the incorporation of the town and was a member of the first town council there.
The family moved to Port Angeles in 1927 and he was with the National Park Service from 1935-1940. He resigned from the park service and opened and operated a grocery store until 1953.
