About Coenrad Lancing Finger

Coenrad Lancing Finger died at age 42 when the steamship Evening Star sank during a hurricane off the coast of Georgia, 185 miles east of Tybee. His brother Robert L. Finger was chief engineer and survived the sinking. He was listed as Lansing Finger first assistant engineer. The ship was en route from New York to New Orleans.
