PROMINENT CIVIL ENGINEER, part of the Baldwin family of engineers.

Benjamin Franklin Baldwin, son of Loammi Baldwin and Mary Fowle, was b. in Woburn, Mass. in 1777; he m. May 1,1808, with MARY CARTER BREWSTER^, b. Sept. 11,1784, dau. of Benjamin Coolidge, a merchant of Boston. NOTE: Marriage record hows that Maj. Benjamin Franklin Baldwin married, on May 1,1808, with MARY CARTER COOLIDGE..,which would appear to be correct, and is being used.)He was a Civil Engineer, and assisted his brother Loammi in constructing the Boston Mill Dam., He. d. suddenly in Woburn, on his way home from the cattle show in Brighton, on Oct. 11,1821, aged 44.

Children were: Mary Brewster (1809), Clarissa (1810), Loammi (1813), Mary Brewster (1815), Clarissa Coolidge (1819).

Benjamin's widow m. 2nd on Dec. 4,1823, Wyman Richardson, who graduated from Harvard College in 1804, a lawyer; d. in Woburn, June 22,1841. She had by her 2nd husband two children; Wyman, b. Dec. 8, 1824, of Danvers, a currier; and Catharine, b. Jan. 6,1828, and m. George P. Phinney, a farmer, of Columbus, Illinois. She m. 3rd with Burrage Yale, Esq., of South Reading. Distribution was made of Benjamin's estate, in 1837, to his successor in right of his wife and three children named.
