About Col. Isador Eisenstadt

Isador Eisenstadt arrived in the United States as a teenager, and fought for the Union, patrolling the Ohio River in southeastern Ohio as a member of the One Hundred and Forty-sixth Ohio regiment, Company F. After the war was over, he moved to Chicago, where he and many members of his family manufactured neckties.

Eisenstadt was a member of Kehillath Anshe Maarabh, Chicago's oldest synagogue.
