The "Colonel Hutchings" is likely Capt. John Hutchings (1691-1768) who married Amy Godfrey and lived in Norfolk Co. Va.. One of their daughters, Amy, married Thomas Newton (1713-1794) Col. Hutchings' eldest daughter married Col. Thomas Newton and Jane lived with them, despite being asked repeatedly by her relative, John Savage of Charleston (perhaps the son of her uncle, Thomas), to come live with them.
