Colleen (74), and her husband, Fanie (78), were tortured and murdered on their farm Welgevonden, near Poortjie, West Rand, on 10th May 2018.

The Engelbrechts' son, Jo-An, found his parents' bodies after they did not arrive in time for lunch.

  • Judge David Makoba in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court on the East Rand - 6th February 2020. Sentencing 6th April 2020.
  • On Friday 17th July 2020, Julius Mapayi Goncalves (24) and Jossias Nhalungo (36), both of Mozambique, were sentenced to life in prison in the Pretoria High Court. The two were sentenced to life in prison for each of the murders, 15 years in prison for robbery, five years each for possession of an unlicensed firearm and five years each for illegal possession of ammunition.
