About Concessa Becker

Concessa was born in 1842 in Eisenbach, Bavaria, Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1858, where she lived in Rhine Township, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin with her unlcle, Alois Becker. She married Jacob Faust Sr. in 1861 and they had 8 children together. She lived the rest of her life on the Faust homestead farm in Shleswig Township, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Concessa Faust, one of the pioneer women of the town of Schleswig, near Kiel, died suddenly at Milwaukee, on Sunday morning, of heart failure. Mrs. Faust had left for Milwaukee the week before, to visit her sons, and while at church last Sunday morning, she suddenly became ill. After being taken to the home of her son Philipp, where she was staying, she expired. The deceased was born in Eisenbach, Bavaria, Germany, October 24th, 1842, and came to this country in 1858. In 1860 she was married to Jacob Faust, and the couple settled on a farm in the town of Schleswig, now owned by the son Jacob. Eight children were born of this union of whom four have died. She leaves four sons, namely: Alois and Philipp of Milwaukee, Ernst of Seattle, Wash., and Jacob of Schleswig; also 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her husband passed away 41 years ago, and she had been making her home with her son Jacob for 34 years. The body was brought to Kiel on Monday evening, and taken to the home of her son Jacob. The funeral services were held on Wednesday morning, at Ss. Peter and Paul’s church, Rev. M. Rumpel officiating. Interment took place in the church cemetery. September, 1920
