Content Wood, daughter of William Wood (son of Thomas Wood & Content Thurston) & Hannah Shaw (daughter of Israel Shaw & Mercy Tallman) [citation needed], was born "9th month, 7, 1723" [1] (In 1723, using the old Julian Calendar, this translates to 18 Nov 1723 using today's Gregorian Calendar. [2][3]%29 Another source gives the date 10 Jan 1726 for her birth. [citation needed] When Content Wood was born, Little Compton was part of Massachusetts. Later, when the state line between Massachusetts and Rhode Island, it became part of Newport, Rhode Island. [citation needed]

Marriage

Content married in Dartmouth, MA to Edward Wing, son of Edward Wing & Sarah Tucker. [4] She died "giving birth to twins, and according to the records of the Monthly Meeting at Obling, the infant children were taken into the families of Friends." [1] Josephine C. Frost in The Haviland Genealogy also states that Content died giving birth to twins but doesn't name them specifically, instead she states they had only two sons: Thomas and Russell (perhaps mistaking Thomas for the twin. However Conway Wing in Register of John Wing states that Russell had a twin Abraham T., and then Thomas was an earlier child, and also says that another son, William, died young.
