Cpl. Christopher Fort served in 1776 in Capt. Robert Harris' Company, Harford Rifles, Flying Camp Militia, Harford County, MD.

Christopher Fort: January 7, 1843, Death of Christopher Fort, in Lewis County, aged 109; he was at the Battle of Fort Duquesne, or Braddock's defeat (1758), when 21 years old, and was among the first settlers in Kentucky; he never took any medicine, and never had the attendance of a physician - giving as his reason, that God who made him sick could make him well; he had been a member of the Baptist church for many years; he was 99 years old when he married his last wife; he died as one falls asleep, without a groan and without any sickness.

His third wife Margaret lived to an age of 105. His son James Davis Fort also lived to an advanced age of 101 years old, who fell short of his expectations to beat his father.
