Glazier Estabrook enlisted in Company H, Maine 20th Infantry Regiment on 29 Aug 1862. Promoted to Full Corporal. Promoted to Full Private. Mustered out on 15 Jun 1864.

Source: Quote from letter of Milliard Simpson: "They said he was built like Hercules. The men then worked in the lumber woods. The trees were all cut down with an ax -it was their main tool. Daylight 'til dark was a day's work. They ate salt pork, beans, and beef, but they burnt up all their calories. The Estabrooks' were all a rugged race. I heard one story about Glazier Estabrook in a lumber camp. A barrel of pork weighing 325 lbs. he could take and pick it up and put it on his shoulders. His nephew John Hall brought him from Danforth to Amity for a visit when Glazier Estabrook was in his 80's. He was still a rugged looking man who didn't look his age. Glazier died August 27, 1892 in Orono, Maine, of heart failure. He was buried in an unmarked grave in Riverside Cemetery, Orono, next to his wife, Ann.
