Henry Timberlake. immigrant ancestor, resided in Newport, Rhode Island. He married Mary, who died September 10, 1705. He was a Corporal in 1644 and commissioner in 1663. He died before February 12, 1697, when his widow Mary sold to her son-in-law one hundred and twelve acres of land in Newport. Her estate was valued at ninety-two pounds at the inventory July 3, 1706.

His origins are not known for certain. Some sources indicate he was from Hampshire and b.c.1629, and some sources indicate he was from Southhampton. In addition, his death date is not clear. Some sources give the 1706 death date, but early sources indicate his widow sold land in Newport to her son-in-law in 1697. : Based on the fact that he was chosen a corporal in 1644, he would have been born about 1620. : Timberlake, *Henry, Newport 1644, then chos. corporal, rep. 1663; had fam. of wh. I kn. only Eliz. that m. 24 Dec. 1670, the third John Coggeshall. Perhaps it was his s. wh. was a soldier with the rank of ensign, under capt. I., was Corporal there 1644. By his wife Mary he had William, Henry, Joseph and John. He died before 1680, and his widow 10 Sept., 1705. It may be that he was the youngest son Henry, named in the will, the connection [p.23] shown with the Bromfield family indicating a connection with New England rather than with Virginia.<ref>Source: #S50 Page 23</ref>

There isa record of this William Timberlake in the minutes of the select man’s meeting in Boston on 12-27-1670.
