  • Two schoolboys, aged 16 and 17, who were part of a gang of five, who moved from Soweto to the Primrose area, claimed that they were committing murders to pay their debt of R7000 to a drug dealer. They appeared in the Germiston Regional Court on 8th December 2008.
  • Four of the five boys were arrested. According to police spokesperson of the Primrose police, Insp. William Masondo, the gang split in two groups to rob houses in the area. "The group of two, as well as two members of the group of three, were arrested. This is the group of three that broke into the Mullers' home. The 17-year-old and the suspect, who is still wanted, were in the house while the 16-year-old waited outside," he said.
  • The group of two members pointed out their accomplices' hiding place to the police. They could not be connected to the murder and one of them was released. However, the 16 year-old appeared in the Soweto Magistrate's Court on charges of rape and assault.
  • Both boys appeared again in court on 3rd December 2011. The case was adjourned until January 13th 2011. The boys remain in custody.
