DOWNER–George H., 91, Johnstown, died Sun., March 28, 2010, at Church of the Brethren Home. Born Jan. 24, 1919, in Tignall, GA, to George W. & Betty Lee (Johnson) Downer. Predeceased by first wife of 32 years, Iva B. Berkebile; second wife of 33 years, Jean Marovick; and brothers, Milton Lee & Lewis H. Downer. Survived by children: Barney L., married to the former Mary C. Lunko; and Cindy S., wife of John P. Haluska, both of Johnstown; 6 grandchildren; 5 gr. grandchildren; stepchildren: Ronald and Joseph (Deborah) Markovick, Philadelphia; and Carol, wife of Joseph Salony, Ohio; 6 step grandchildren; and 6 step gr. grandchildren; brother of Barney F. and Peggy, married to James Varnadoe, Griffin, GA. George served five years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Panama, the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador and Munich, Germany. He retired from Consolidated Vending with 40 years of service. Ozog Funeral Home. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
