About Cpl. Jeremy Brooks Davenport

Jeremy B. Davenport served in the Union Army during the American Civil War as a member of Company A, 20th Regiment, Massachusetts Infantry. He mustered in on August 30, 1861 at Camp Massosoit as a Private for a period of three years. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal on June 13, 1862. He was sick in the hospital during mid-August 1862. He once again fell sick sometime in September/October 1862 and was placed in the General Hospital in Bolivar, Virginia. He spent the following year sick and absent from his regiment. He was eventually placed on detached duty as a member of the Invalid Corps sometime in May/June 1863. He was discharged for disability on April 14, 1864.
