Hello and thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Cynthia but close family know me as Cindy (NOT Cyndee or Cindie or Cindee or, G-d forbid, "Cin"! But I prefer Cynthia and my mother says I corrected HER when she called me Cindy! lol My father always called me Ninny because my little sister called me that. He was and will always be my hero. He is the reason I can truly believe in and accept a Supreme being we call FATHER.
Shilombish Na Hoya = Spirit Seeker (Ancestor Hunter) is a name I was given because I have LOST my tribe. It was a toss up between that and Go-getter or Fire brand and I accept that I am often seen as such. I AM a fire brand...and so are many of the people I respect the most. If you will "stand for nothing, you will fall for anything" is a truism, in my humble opinion.
If you SEE I have been in your trees, it is very likely that I am:
1) Helping a stranger
2) Trying to connect a DNA match.

My mito is U4c1a. My father's mito: U5b2a1 (deduced from a first cousin who descends from my paternal aunt)
Hicks Y haplo is I-PF4088
Emerson Y haplo is I-M253
My Native American and my African roots are five generations back and further but they are in my heart <3 and they are why I search daily. I WELCOME collaboration on these and other lines and am dedicated to having a DNA proved tree.
In Nursing school, I was class Vice-President & they called me "Research"
I have been accused of "Keeping it REAL"
I am a BIG fan of "Do the Right Thing" ...I also like "DO NO HARM... (but take no B.S.)"
My father was career ARMY & my HERO. He loved my mother. All her siblings either served in the military, were married to military, or went to college (in a day when MOST people did not finish grade school, much less High School) and my father personally assisted with their University tuition. Together, they were something. I did THIS for them... and now that they are gone, I do this for ME.
I don't "HATE" my Plantagenet roots and I am a PROUD descendant of Native Americans, African Americans, Jamestowne AND the "20 and Odd" as well as immigrants arriving in the 1800’s. I have grandparents who were NA and grands that were killed by NA, grands who were slaves as well as grands who were slave holders. My Swaim fought and died wearing the grey uniform of the Confederacy in the Battle of Shiloh while my Hicks survived the terrible Andersonville Prison fighting on the side of the Union, wearing blue.
Keep your racism and bigotry and prejudice far far away from me.
