James came to South Africa on the ship Coldstream 15/16-7-1861 from the port of Southampton. Arrived port elizabeth 3-8-1861. He lived in Bulawayo from 1894-1906. then returned to Somerset East Cape Province.
Died at age 81, before his death travelled back to Scotland in 1903 for a visit. James's children are registered in the Presbyterian parish Grahamstown 1848-1893..........Married 4-9-1863
