DALLAS GIVAN, LAKEVIEW NATIVE
Cedarville --- Dallas "Dally" Gordon Givan, 83, Cedarville, died in a
Redding, Calif. hospital on Tuesday.
Mr. Givan was born on September 4, 1898, in Lakeview. His parents were
James Givan and Dora Rambow. He was raised in Warner Valley.
He was a rancher and a livestock brand inspector for the Klamath Indian
Reservation at Beatty.
Mr. Givan was one of a group of persons who started rodeos in Lakeview,
Bly, Klamath Falls and Beatty.
He was a member of the Klamath County Sheriff's Posse and a past member
of the Lakeview Elks Lodge.
He made his home for the past few years in Cedarville.
He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Ellen and Mary Givan, and a son,
Dallas G. Givan.
Survivors include his wife, Violet of Cedarville; daughters, Martha
Cassidy of Baker and Jill Switzler of Klamath Falls; son, Ernie of Fort
Bidwell; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in
Lakeview, with the Reverend Guy Ascherman of Surprise Valley Baptist Church
officiating. Interment will be in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Lakeview. The
Ousley-Osterman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

GIVAN RITES HELD HERE
Funeral services for Dallas Gordon Givan Jr., of Henley, were held in Ward's Klamath Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Monday, March 29. Final rites and interment were in Mt. Laki Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leland Stoehsler, Ted
Lubbe, Vincent Cheyne, Ed Osborne, Tulelake, Vernon McNair, Beatty, and Lee Decker, Bly.
Mr. Givan, 37, died at the family home in the Henley district March 25. He was a past president of the Klamath Reservation Jaycees, had been named Farmer of the Year in 1962, was President of the Klamath County Junior Rodeo
Association for two years, after assisting with its organization, was a member of the Soil Conservation Board, was a member of Klamath Falls Lodge #1247 BPOE, and attended the Mt. Laki Presbyterian Church.
During the Korean War he served as a forward observer in the Signal Corps.
He was engaged as a logger before coming to the Henley district to farm.
Survivors include the widow, Ida Lee; sons, Dallas H., and James J.; a daughter, Ann Jane, all of Henley; mother, Mrs. Inez Griffin, Henley; father, Dallas Givan Sr., Beatty; sisters, Martha Cassidy, Baker, and Patricia Shaver, Woodland, California.
