About Daniel Clark, Jr.
Note: DANIEL CLARK of Colchester, Connecticut; b. 5th April, 1654; bapt. 10th April, 1654, in Windsor, Connecticut; after reaching manhood he located elsewhere but was temporarily in Hartford in 1675, where he had a passage at arms with Mayor Treat and got fined for contempt of court which was remitted and peace restored on the joint petition of his father and Mayor Treat; he later lived in Hartford where he was a locksmith until 1710, when he removed to Colchester, Connecticut, where he died before 1746; not as prominent as his father, yet his name frequently occurs in the Colonial records of Connecticut, and it is related that he served in one Indian [p.100] campaign and was enlisted in the Louisburg Expedition ( The Louisbourg Expedition (1757) was a failed British attempt to capture the French Fortress of Louisbourg on Île Royale during the Seven Years' War.) just prior to his death; m. in 1678, Hannah PRATT, dau. of Daniel and Hannah PRATT of Hartford; the former was a son of first John PRATT of Hartford and gd. son of Rev. William PRATT of Hertfordshire, England.

CLARK, DANIEL, Jun., son of Hon. Daniel Clark, of Windsor, at a meeting of the council in Hartford, March 10, 1675-6, was convicted for notorious, reproachful, contemptuous speeches, and threatening Mayor Treat; fined him £20, and committed him to prison during the pleasure of the council. And at a meeting of the council, Jan. 2, 1676(7,) Capt. Daniel Clark appeared and requested "that his son's fine" might be remitted,and statedit would be a great encouragement for him to settle " here," in the improvement of his trade and art, for the benefit of the country, &c. Mayor Treat also interceded for him, and stated Daniel's confession, reformation, &c. The council remitted the fine, expecting his return and settlement in attendance of his art and trade.
