He served in the Revolutionary War
Daniel Dees was born around 1740 in Edgecomb or Johnston Co, he died in Jefferson Co Ga in 1802. His wife was Elizabeth Wood. He had a number of land grants in Johnston Co NC between 1765 and 1782. He appears to have been a wealthy man.
He served in the Revolutionary War his service is in the Army Accounts of Raleigh NC Vol Vi p 52 folio I Book C p 160 cancelled vouchers #103, #2156, and #2101 and is proven by the Daughters of American Revolution.
Daniels sons were:
Drury Dees b ca 1767 married Sally Stevens June 20 1795 in Johnston Co.
He moved to Ga with his father and served in the War of 1812 in
Conecah Al he died in Al in 1837.
Edmund Dees b ca 1765 d 1844. Edmund married Mary Whittington
Elizabeth Braswell Nov 15 1803 in Johnston Co NC. Edmunds will shows
his children.
Hillard Dees married sally Sanith on March 20 1800, Johnston Co. He
moved with his father to Jefferson Co Ga then in 1812 he moved to
Pulaski Co Ga and died there in 1818.
Daniel Dees b 1777 in Johnston Co NC he married Nancy b 1775 and he
died in 1817 in Johnston Co.
John Dees b 1780 married Causy Raylor June 16 1807 in Jefferson Co GA
and later moved to Pulaski GA and probably later moved to Alabama.

He left his property to his wife, Elizabeth, and to his sons - Edmond, Drury, John, Hillard and Daniel and was witnessed by Thacker Vivion, Jr, Duet Dees, Nancy Dees and Rebecah Crawford.

my son John shall become the age of 21 one negro man. .and I lend one negro woman, one negro

Will of Edmond Dees
In the name of God, Amen. I Edmond Dees of the State of North Carolina, Union
County. Being in a low state of health but in perfect mind and memory to make
this my last will and testament. And first I recommend my spirit unto God who
gave it my body to the dust the common mother of all mankind. As touching my
Worldly goods I dispose of in the following manner. I give and bequeath to my
beloved wife Elizabeth all of my estate both real and personal during her life
or widowhood. Then to be equally divided among my lawful heirs with an
exception of twenty five acres of land deeded to Gren B. Rushing for the sum of
fifty dollars which is to be deducted out of his part of my property when
divided., vuz, Elizabeth, Clemen Allen, Mary her part is to go to her & her heirs her
husband James Horn is not to dispose of her property, Zilpha, Green, Jennet
B., John B..I Edmond Dees do acknowledge this to be my last will and testament
in the county and state above written, this the 2nd January in the year of our
Lord 1884. Assigned & delivered in the presence of G. Avett Asa Trawick, S.
Caudel, State of North Carolina, Union County Court of Pleas and quarter session
July Term 1844. The last will and testament of Edmond Dees was executed in
open court and was proven in due form of law by Asa Trawick and G. Avett, two of
the subscribing witnesses here to and ordered to be recorded.
