Mountain Lake, Minn., May 6. — Daniel Epp, a much respected and beloved citizen of this community was laid to rest from the Bethel Church last Sunday afternoon, in the presence of more than a thousand friends. Many more were outside the church than could find seats inside.

The news of the death of the deceased was a distinct shock to the community, as few had known that he was even ill. Mr. Epp was a strong young man, and it seemed, in the prime of health, when an attack of appendicitis came upon him on Saturday, April 24th, the date of birthday. He was rushed to the hospital at once and operated upon immediately. The operation was successful, and he seemed to recuperate quickly. At the end of the fourth day, he spoke of going home. However, he became weaker, and on the afternoon of the 29th, he passed quietly away.

The loss to his family is keenly felt, as there are nine children, from his three marriages. His wife is broken down, and has been very ill during the entire period of his death and funeral.
