The book, Vital Records of Augusta, Maine to 1892 by Ethel Colby Conant, v.2, p. 329 says he died in Augusta, Maine on 28 June 1816. I think they have the age at death incorrect. When I figured it using the Gregorian calendar (the Julian came into use in 1752), I got that he was born in 1745, two years prior to his father's massacre. His mother was pregnant when Ebenezer was killed, so this indicates that Daniel was the next to the last child, and the last child born posthumously was named Joshua, in honor of his sibling whom he was named after, having gotten shot during the raid of the natives and dying two days later than his father. These are my footnotes for the two things I have mentioned:
82 He stated he was age 40 on 23 June 1785 (Daniel Hilton deposition, Smith v Williams, 1785, Supreme Judicial Court of Suffolk Co., Mass., Suffolk Court Files, #140610). 83 Ethel Colby Conant, ed., Vital Records of Augusta, Maine, to the Year 1892, 2 vols. (Auburn, Maine, 1933–34), 2:329 (hereafter cited as Augusta VRs).
