About Daniel KATZ
Daniel was a 14 years old boy on that infamous Night of Brokem Glass, Nov. 9-10 1938 and the only child among the male adults of Guxhagen, Germany who was arrested and thrown into the Breitenau jail. On Dec. 9 1941 Daniel was deported to Riga via Kassel but survived it all and the Holocaust. After the liberation he emigrated to the USA Via Sweden and Germany.

DANIEL KATZ, 70, of Germantown, retired engineer, died of diabetes Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Graveside services will be Sunday at New Montefiore Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y. Canale Funeral Directors has charge. Mr. Katz, the husband of Renate Cohn Katz of Scottsdale, Ariz., also leaves a daughter, Loretta K. Steinman of Ridgefield, Conn.; a son, Benjamin Katz of Memphis, and a grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to Memphis Jewish Home.
