Daniel Ketchum

Daniel was named in his father's will of 22 Feb 1751 he lived near or with his uncle, Elihu Ketchum, I Dutchess Co., NY after his father's death. Daniel married Keziah Smith about 1766. On Apr 3,1771 he was granted Letters Of Administration for his brother Eliphalet, who died interstate in Dutchess County, NY. In 1777 , he deeded 300 acres of land "of the Gore" to Arron Clark of Smithfield, RI. Daniel served during the American Revolution, the first time for 5 days in 1780, and again in 1781 under General Stark at Saratoga. Other land transactions were recorded in Berkshire County, .... Daniel was on the census roll of 1790 Saratoga, Albany County, NY where he served as Town Officer in 1792. No record of his death or burial has been found."

    Daniel's DAR# is A065225. It also lists his Service as Maryland and Birth as 2-17-1753 Death 3-17-1828 in Shelby Co, Kentucky. It lists his wife as Keziah Lewis. 

    Daniel seems to have overcome  a lot of set backs in life and became a success.

When Daniel Ketchum was born on 21 March 1741, in Huntington, Suffolk, New York Colony, British Colonial America, his father, Jonathan Ketcham, was 26 and his mother, Hannah Ketchum, was 23. He married Kezia Smith in 1766. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. He died in 1773, in Bucyrus, Crawford, Ohio, United States, at the age of 32.
