See Martha Ford Barto's book "Passamaquoddy Genealogies of West Isles Families", p132-135 for descendants of Daniel Leeman. The following is the text from page 132 for Daniel Leeman:
"Daniel, Sr., was a member of the Penobscot Loyalist Association and removed from Castine, Me., to St.Andrews. In 1784, with others, he received a grant in the area of the St.Croix River and St.Andrews. He resided for a short time at Oak Bay, but soon removed to Deer Island. He resided on the northwestern side of the island. He signed the petition of Nov. 30, 1804 requesting land on Deer Island. Again on Feb. 4, 1812 he and his son, Daniel, Jr., requested land. Daniel's son Samuel bought from Thomas Farrell in 1821 a small island joined to Deer Island by a sand bar. At that time Charles Hilyard was living on the island and it was known as Hilyard's Island. Today it is called English Island. In his will of May 30, 1822, Samuel left this island to his brother John."
