Dan Roberts built the home place and furniture for it, including cups and buckets, before he and Tildie were married. It is suppose to be a log home, though one cannot tell because of the green siding now on it. The home place and the grist mill sight can be found by leaving Blackwater, after the post office, turn left and it will be the third house on the right. It is a two-story house with a mill pond site in the front, across the road. There is now no evidence of the mill.

It was said that Tildie was an excellent millwright; she could sharpen and fix on the mill as good or better than Dan.

Dan had worked on a perpetual-motion machine; he got the machine to run for 1 hour and 45 minutes with 12 people watching. As the machine ran, it kept getting faster and faster. Dan had not written any notes on his perpetual-motion machine.
