About Daniel Searles
Deliverance Tyng, born June 06, 1645 in Boston, Mass; married Daniel Searle, Gov. of Barbadoes Abt. 1666; born Abt. 1620. Notes for Daniel Searle, Governor of Barbadoes: Acting Governor of the Barbadoes June, 1653 - July, 1660. Daniel Searle was on board the "Barbados Fleet", which left Plymouth on 05 August 1651 and arrived in Barbados 15 October 1651. He spent the first part of his life in his native England but in 1650 was ordered to Barbados by Oliver Cromwell. He was granted 500 acres on the island. It has yet to be determined if this is the Daniel Searle who married Joan Lewis in Barbados 14 June 1658 and to whom a son, John, was born and baptized at Christ Church Parish 9 May 1659. Nor is it certain if this is the Daniel Searle, Esquire who married Mrs. Dorothy Dorce in St. Michael’s Parish on 20 December
