About Daniel Moore Secor

Daniel M. SECOR, 80, a resident of Akron throughout his entire life, passed away 5 a.m. today at his home in that city. He had been in ill health for the past two years. Mr. Secor had a host of friends throughout the eastern section of the county. He owned and operated a hardware store in Akron for a long number of years. Daniel M., son of Robert and Adeline (BURNS) SECOR, was born in Akron on Oct. 23, 1869. His first marriage in 1890 was to Sarah LITTLE. On January 30, 1930, he was married to Alice MABY at Petoskey, Mich. Mr. Secor was a member of the Akron Modern Woodmen Lodge. Survivors are his wife; a son, Harley [SECOR]; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia SHOWALTER, Mrs. Goldie HATTERY, both of Akron; five step-children; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Two daughters preceded in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Moyer-Haupert funeral home. Rev. Daniel L. SLAYBAUGH and Rev. R. A. FENSTERMACHER will officiate. Burial will be in the Akron I.O.O.F. cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call.
