

Daniel Thew was a lawyer in Rockland County, NY. He married Elizabeth Burnett, daughter of Dr. William Burnet, Surgeon and Chief Physician of Continental Army and sister of Jacob Burnet, U.S. Senator, David G. Burnet, Interim President, 2nd VP & Sec. of the Rep. of Texas and Isaac G. Burnet, 1st Mayor of the City of Cincinnati. Daniel Thew attended Princeton University, class of 1794. Daniel Thew was also a slave owner, owning one slave on the 1800 United States Federal Census.
