Darlene Lois Becvar, 67, Staples, formerly of International Falls, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Greater Staples Hospital.

She was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Minneapolis to Hazel Langenbau Dahl. She lived in Mora. She married LaVerne Francis Becvar on Oct. 29, 1955, in Brook Park. They moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., and then to Grantsburg, Wis. They lived in International Falls until they moved to Staples in 1995.

Survivors include three daughters, Crystal Bitz, Brainerd, Rhonda Phillips, Ramstein, Germany, and LaVonne Murray, Staples; a son, Rick Becvar, International Falls; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Monica Gallagher, Embarrass; and two brothers, Donald Dahl, Hillside, and DuWayne Dahl, Rush City.

Her mother; her husband; an infant daughter, Christine; and a brother, David, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples with Pastor Bradley Skogen officiating. Burial will be in Woodlake Cemetery in Grantsburg, Wis., at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the Darlene Lois Becvar Memorial Fund.
