Darrell William Kruger

Darrell W. Kruger, 85, funeral will be held at Pierce with burial in Hillcrest cemetery at Norfolk. He died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Pierce. He was born Oct. 13, 1924 to William Carl and Amelia Catherine (Bauer) Kruger at rural Randolph. "During World War II, from Jan. 19, 1945, to Dec. 2, 1946, he served with armed forces Company A, 108th Regiment Combat Team, 40th Infantry Division, Panay Island, Philippines, and 51st MP Battalion, Inchon, Korea." He was married on Feb. 8, 1954 to LaVerda L. Nitz at Zion Lutheran Church, east rural Hoskins. He was survived by his wife, 1 son, 2 daughters [1 with husband], 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 brother and his wife, 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Norma Keltner, 3 brothers-in-law Dennis Keltner, Loyd Sporleder, Louie Gosch.
