About David Q. BRAY

GEDCOM Note

David Q. Bray was a private in the 7th Cavalry Regiment, Captain J. H. Sikes’ Company D of Claiborne’s Regiment Partisan Rangers. He enlisted on July 18, 1862, in Columbus, Georgia, by Capt. Skies. This unit was dismantled in fall 1864. After that, he should have been in the 10th Georgia Cavalry but is not listed in this reference: http://www.ranger95.com/civil_war/georgia/cavalry/10ga_cav_rgt/10th... was AWOL from May 15, 1863, to September 1, 1864 (probably when the unit was disbanded). He was enlisted as 5 feet, 10 inches tall with light hair and dark complexion. He was also said to be 37 years old although that does not comport with his supposed birth year of 1830. He was a miller by profession.
