About David Andrew Barton

David Andrew Barton, son of Enos Ozias Barton and Obedience Goforth, was born in Knox Co., Illinois on Oct. 29, 1881. He married with JESSIE EMMA MILLER, dau. of Henry H. Miller and Mary Jane Dunn on Nov. 2, 1904 in Pretty Prairie, Reno Co., Kansas. She was born July 15, 1886 in Sheridan Co., Kansas. She died Nov. 13, 1959 in Pretty Prairie, Reno Co., Kansas. He died June 12, 1965 in Reno Co., Kansas and both buried at Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie, Reno Co., Kansas.

Children were: Marie Obedience (1905-1975; m. Graber), Henry Laverne (1907-1988), Golda Mae (1908-1994; m. West), and Leota Pearl (1913-2003; m. Key).

David A Barton died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter H. Graber here Saturday afternoon following an illness of about two months.

He was born in Knox Co., Illinois, Oct. 28, 1881 and moved to Pretty Prairie from Missouri in 1900. He lived on a farm near here until retiring two years ago. He was married to Jessie E. Miller on Nov. 2, 1904 in Pretty Prairie. She passed away in 1959.

He was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses.

Survivors include daughters Mrs. Walter H. Graber of Pretty Prairie, Mrs. Clair M. West and Mrs. James B. Key of Little River, brothers Ray R. of Wichita; Arthur Earl of Garden City; and Ellis F. of Colorado Springs; sisters: Mrs. Della Harrison of Colorado Springs, and Mrs. Mae Smith of Lonview, Washington; ten grandsons and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Elliot Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial in Lone Star Cemetery.
