David Bechdel, Sr

There are several surname spellings: Bechtel, Beachdel, Bechdel. This David Bechtal was the son of Christian Bechtel and Maria Schneider. He was born in Manheim Township York county Pennsylvania and relocated into what is now Centre County in 1790. He married first, Barbara Schenck and they had one daughter named Magdelana. Barbara was born in Conestoga Township in Lancaster County and was the daughter of the Reverand Michael Schenck and Maria Maynard. David Bechtel then married Susannah Helmon who was a daughter of John and Magdelana Helmon. David and Susannah were the parents of Samuel, John, Chsistian D, Susan, Mary, David, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jacob D., and Lydia. Inscription: Aged 74years 4 months and 13 days
