About David Bierly
David and Magdalena were both doctors. They made their own medicine and helped with the delivery of babies.
David made a cradle that was used for his own children, and then it was given to a neighbor family and passed down among their children. All memory of the cradle had faded among the Bierlys when in 1941, about a hundred years after it had been built, one of David's great-granddaughters was asked if her family would like the cradle back. The answer was a grateful "yes."
