David Alvin Churchill

Obituary ( The Torrington Register ) May 17th 1927

  David Churchill , 47 years old, died at 1:00 this morning at his home at 224 North Elm St. He was born in Harwinton but had lived in Torrington over twenty years with the exception of a brief period spent in Chicago. He was a foreman of the skate department of the Union Hardware Company. Those who survive are his wife who was Mrs. Katherine Dillon, two sons, Clyde and Edwin of Torrington, his mother Mrs. Charles Churchill of Harwinton, and two brothers, Edward of Bristol and William of Chicago.

   The Funeral of David Churchill , 47 , will be held from his late home, 224 North Elm Street, Thursday afternoon at 2. The Rev. John Hunter Sterns, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church will officiate. Internment will be in the West Cemetery in Harwinton.

David grew up in Harwinton,Ct . After he was married ( 6/18/1906 ), he and his wife Katherine ( Dillon ) moved to Hinsdale, Illinois. Was living in Chicago's 25th Ward in * 1910 ) .He found a job as a "coachman" for the Morton Salt co.

He had his first child Clyde William Churchill in 1918 when he was 38

In ( 1914 ) was back in Torrington, Ct living at ( 25 Cherry St. ) working at Union Hardware. His obituary said that he was a foreamn in the skate department of the Union Hardware Co. In Torrington, Ct.
