GEDCOM Note
Biography ==David was born about 1626 (based on the order the sons are listed in the Fasti ecclesiae scoticanae≤ref>Scott, Hew. Fasti ecclesiae scoticanae; the succession of ministers in the Church of Scotland from the reformation. Digitised on Internet Archive New Edition. Vol 1 – Synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. Edinburgh: Oliver and Boyd, 1915. page 65≤/ref>) at Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland where his father was minister. He was the son of Master David Dickson and Margaret Roberton.
He died before his father died in 1663 as he was not included in his father's will≤ref>Index of Wills & Testaments; Diksone, David; 20/3/1663; preacher in Edinburgh, professor of Theology in the College thereof; Testament Testamentar and Inventory; Edinburgh Commissary Court; CC8/8/71; from Scotlands People≤/ref>.
Research Notes==David should have been the third son according to Scottish naming tradition. But he is listed after James in the Fasti. Note that son Archibald is missing from that list, and he should be the second son named after his mother's father.
No further records have been found for David, so he may have died quite young.
