David Howard "Dave" Garrett

David Howard Garrett, 61, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He was born on October 26, 1953 in Lafayette to the late Howard "Tiny" and Ruby Jane (Jones) Garrett. David graduated from Wainwright High School in 1972 and completed several flower design degrees. He was the owner of Garrett's Flowers for 18 years and a floral designer for 44 years. He previously worked for St. Elizabeth in the Emergency Admissions Department for 14 years. David was a member of Stockwell United Methodist Church. He was the superintendent of 4-H flower projects for 25 years and helped many children over the years with their flower projects. David also helped with the 4-H queen contest for 40 years and enjoyed competing in the open class division for baking each year. He placed 3rd in the Telefloral National Design Contest in 2014. David enjoyed cooking, baking, and loved his nieces and nephews.
