Please note that David married twice and both spouses had the given name of Emily. I have had a problem sorting the children. I believe there are more children from his 2nd marriage. Also, David's sister's memorial marker has her birth date just 5 months before David. Census records from 1850 has both of them listed as 7 years of age. A bit of a mystery.

David served in Civil War- Company 1, 29th Regiment GA Infantry. Was awarded Cross of Honor and Iron Cross.
In the 1880 Colquitt Co, GA census he is married to his second wife, Emily Catherine Mims.
His CSA pension application and pardon paper is on line, courtesy of GA virtual vault. His birth date and unit match those here. He was captured in Nashville, Tenn and paroled from Camp Chase, O. in 1865.
