Brief Life History of David Knoble (Knobel)
When David Knoble was born on 4 August 1853, in Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, his father, David Knobel, was 21 and his mother, Salome Marti, was 29. He married Karlina Walbom on 8 April 1877, in Sarpsborg, Østfold, Norway. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He lived in Rygge, Østfold, Norway in 1865 and in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, United States in 1885. He deliberately anglicized the name Knobel to Knoble, explaining in the attached letter that Knobel was 'German' and Knoble was 'English'.
